Ingredients:
  • (1/3 cup) orange juice
  • (4 Tbsp.) hoisin sauce
  • (4) tuna steaks
  • (1/2 cup) sesame seeds, divided
  • (4 tsp.) toasted sesame oil
  • (6 cups) shredded napa cabbage
  • (2) carrots, grated

Crispy Tuna Steaks

Fresh tuna steaks with a crispy sesame seed coating served on a bed of warm napa cabbage with a drizzle of an Asian orange sauce.

    Instructions

  1. 1In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice and hoisin sauce, set aside.
  2. 2Place 1/4 cup sesame seeds in an even layer on a plate. Use paper towels to pat the tuna steaks dry, then coat both sides with seeds, set aside.

  3. 3Place a large, nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tsp oil. When hot, add cabbage and carrots. Cook 4 minutes, stirring every so often.

  4. 4Add 2 Tbsp. hoisin sauce and 1/4 cup sesame seeds, cook another 2 minutes, set aside.Place skillet back over medium-high heat. Add 2 tsp. oil.

  5. 5When hot, add tuna and cook 6 minutes minimum (rare), turning once. Top cabbage with steaks and orange sauce and serve.
