Exercise Equipment Reviews
The intent of our Exercise Equipment Review Section is to provide our users with the ability to evaluate the top-rated manufacturers across the various types of exercise equipment.
In addition, our goal is to offer our users an honest, unbiased, and thorough review of each of the manufacturers of the various exercise equipment so that we can best assist you in meeting your unique and personal fitness goals.
The exercise equipment review section has been divided into the following four categories:
The review criteria for each of the pieces of exercise equipment include the technology used in design and construction, the features and functionality of the piece of equipment, the quality and construction of the exercise equipment, the reputation, reliability and safety of the manufacturer, the customer support provided by the company, the warranty covering the frame and parts, the cost of parts and labor, and the cost of the finished equipment package. Finally, each review category is rated from 1-10, with 10 being the highest.
Elliptical Exercise Equipment
Elliptical machines are an excellent choice for individuals who are seeking to exercise their cardiovascular system and improve the muscle tone of their entire body. Similar to treadmills, ellipticals tone the core and upper body areas. In addition, exercising on an elliptical machine is ideal for individuals that have joint pain and/or sensitivity and find it difficult to jog or run on a treadmill or outdoors. A moderately assertive exercise pace on an elliptical will typically burn approximately 700 calories per hour. Similar to a treadmill, exercising on an elliptical is an outstanding choice for individuals seeking to lose excess body weight.
Exercise Bike Equipment
Exercise bikes primarily focus on exercising the cardiovascular system and the lower body. Since exercise bikes do not work the upper body to the same degree as a treadmill or an elliptical, moderate exertion typically results in 500 or more calories being burned per hour. This being said, working out on an exercise bike is a solid approach for individuals who are looking to lose excess body weight. In addition, exercise bikes are available in upright and recumbent styles and are ideal for individuals that find it difficult to endure the jarring motion of jogging or running, have lower back pain, or want to focus on specifically strengthening their lower body.
Strength Training Exercise Equipment
Strength training on a regular basis provides several health benefits and should be included in any exercise program. Strength training not only increases the muscular strength of an individual, but the lean muscle mass as well. In fact, as an individual increases their lean muscle mass, they also increase their basal metabolic rate. This, in turn, leads to a higher number of calories being burned on a daily basis. In addition, strength training improves bone density, reduces the risk of injury by strengthening the muscles, ligaments and tendons, reduces the risk of coronary disease, promotes healthy weight loss, improves balance and coordination, and improves self-esteem and confidence.
Treadmill Exercise Equipment
Treadmill exercise equipment is an excellent choice for individuals who are wanting to increase their cardiovascular condition and tone their entire body at the same time. Exercising on a treadmill is ideal for individuals that enjoy walking, jogging or running. Walking briskly, jogging or running on a treadmill will typically burn approximately 700 calories per hour and is a great choice for individuals wanting to loss excess body weight. In addition, individuals that regularly jog or run on a treadmill will improve their bone density, reduce their risk of osteoporosis, and tone their core, abdominal and upper body areas.
