  • (6 slices) sourdough sandwich bread
  • (1 Tbsp.) olive oil
  • (15) fresh basil leaves, rinsed
  • (2) tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • (4 oz.) fresh mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper

Italian Grilled Cheese

An Italian spin on a grilled cheese sandwich with tomatoes, basil and fresh mozzarella cheese.

  1. 1Preheat the broiler.
  2. 2Brush one side of each slice of bread with oil and place on baking sheet, oil side down. Top each with a layer of basil, tomato and cheese slices, salt and pepper. Top with another bread slice, oil side up.

  3. 3Place sandwiches 6 in. from heat, broil 3 minutes, turning once. Enjoy!
