Hair loss impinges upon the mental well-being of millions of individuals every year, lowering self-confidence in social situations and changing the physical appearance of those as young as teenagers. Contrary to popular belief, thinning hair isn’t just a problem for men – while 35 million American men are affected by hair loss, nearly 21 million American women are affected just the same. In fact, the American Hair Loss Association states that roughly 66% of the male population notice significant hair loss by age 35, while 85% experience the same by age 50.
Most people don’t even consider the health of their hair until they start losing it. However, new research shows that there are steps you can take – many of which are part of a hair loss diet – to help keep your hair and prevent thinning before it’s noticeable.

Heart Problems More Common in Top Endurance Athletes
Competing at a high level across virtually any sport will require specific skill sets that are unique to that sport. In addition, each type of sport will place different stresses on the body.
For example, some sports tend to place a high level of stress on the various joints of the body though repetitive motion such as running long distances and biking long distances. Other types of sports that involve high impact place a high level of stress on virtually the entire body through blunt force trauma.
There are sports that tend to be more anaerobic and sports that tend to be more aerobic. Anaerobic activities involve short-burst movements where the cardiovascular system does not achieve an “aerobic effect”, while aerobic type sports place a high level of stress on the entire cardiovascular system (heart and lungs).

The Freshman 15 is Only the Beginning, Study Says
The current academic year is now underway, and millions of college freshmen have headed off to universities throughout the country in hopes of working towards a degree. Fitness-minded college students have another big goal in mind, however: avoiding the dreaded “Freshman 15.”
The Freshman 15, of course, is referencing the 15 pounds that many college students typically gain after heading off to college for the first time.
This commonly occurs because most college students are leaving behind their relatively carefree schedules, high school athletics programs and home-cooked meals for the toils of balancing a busy class schedule with work, new social opportunities, and of course – dorm food.
Indeed, the temptation of three high-fat, endless-calorie meals per day served buffet-style at the college campus cafeterias can be too much for the hungry, tired and highly-stressed college newcomers to resist.

Do Fitness Video Games Really Work?
Since the 1980′s, video games have traditionally been the enemy of many of health and fitness advocates. Fitness experts balk at the thought of young individuals, who once spent the majority of their free time outdoors and playing sports, sitting idly on the couch in front of the television set, mashing away at the buttons on their controllers for hours on end.
However, as with all things in life, the video game industry has changed and evolved over the last several years and, in fact, has begun producing fitness-based interactive videos.
In the past half-decade, all major video game consoles have introduced fitness hardware add-ons, including the Wii Fit for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation Move for the Sony PS3, and Xbox Kinect for the Microsoft Xbox 360.
A countless number of video fitness games that have been designed to take advantage of this hardware has led to households everywhere beginning to compile a large stock of games centered mostly around dance, aerobics and a variety of other forms of cardiovascular activity.

For dieters and exercisers throughout the world, losing excess body weight is often only half the battle.
