Egg Donation Now Won’t Hurt Pregnancy Chances Later
Women who have, or are, considering the donation of one of their reproductive eggs will now be glad to know that doing so will not decrease their probability of having their own pregnancy down the road, according to a newly published study by Belgian researchers into the risks of female egg donation.
When a woman donates one of her reproductive eggs, she’s typically treated with hormones that are intended to increase the rate in which her ovaries produce eggs.
In the past, there were a multiple previous clinical studies that suggested that the hormone treatments could result in fertility problems in the future. However, the researchers behind the new study said that these previous studies contained design flaws that detracted from their accuracy.

Excess Body Weight Increases Pregnancy Complication Risk
There have been countless clinical studies that have touted the health risks associated with obesity. From an elevated probability of contracting some form of heart disease, a variety of cancer types, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure, to name a few.
Additionally, while many women are familiar with the fact that obesity increases the risk of experiencing complications during pregnancy, what about the pregnancy risks for women who only carry a modest amount of excess body weight?
According to a new study, women who are overweight but not necessarily obese are more likely to increase their pregnancy complication risks during pregnancy when compared to women of a normal body weight, especially if their blood sugar levels are moderately elevated as well.

Poor or Insufficient Sleep Raises Diabetes Risk
It’s long been known that consistently receiving an adequate amount of sleep each and every night is crucial to good mental and physical health.
For example, regularly receiving 7 to 8 hours of sound sleep per night strengthens your entire immune system and hence, better enables your body to fight common colds and flu viruses. In addition, regular and consistent sleep also improves cognitive function and enhances mental focus, clarity, complex problem solving, and overall levels of concentration.
However, inadequate sleep, over time, can lead to a whole host of mental and physical issues including heart disease, obesity, fatigue, mental instability, irritability, depression, and lack of motivation, to name a few.
In addition, a newly published sleep and diabetes study indicates that the quality of your sleep is also influential on your disease risk. According to the study, sleeping inconsistently or sleeping too little could directly increase your likelihood of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Study: Weight Loss Programs are Best Bet for Obese Patients
If you continually struggle with trying to lose excess body weight, or are technically considered to be obese, becoming a member of a healthy weight loss program may be the most safe and effective way of losing weight, according to a newly published study. In the study, obese subjects who reported losing 10% or more of their excess body weight over the course of the previous year were more likely to have done so through a weight loss program than those who lost a lesser amount of weight.
Also reported within the same study, subjects who accomplished losing 5% or more of their total body weight were more likely to have done so through other means, such as using prescription weight loss supplements, exercising more often or consuming less fat and calories. Of course, any of these elements could be incorporated into a healthy weight loss program as well.

Some Herbal Remedies Boost Urinary Tract Cancer Risk
Taiwan has the highest prevalence of upper urinary tract type cancers of any country in the world, and a newly published study may reveal why. According to the study, over half of these cancers are triggered by aristolochic acid, a known carcinogen found in Aristolochia plants and used in a variety of several different types of Chinese herbal remedies.
Just how common is upper urinary tract cancer in Taiwan? While approximately 1 out of every 100,000 people are diagnosed with the disease each year in the United States, about four times as many are diagnosed each year in Taiwan.
Urinary tract cancer affects the bladder, kidneys, or ureters, which move fluid from the kidneys to the bladder, or the urethra, which expels urine from the bladder to the outside of the body.
