Berry and Asparagus Salad

  • (1/4 cup) sugar
  • (2 Tbsp.) cider vinegar
  • (1 Tbsp.) poppy seeds
  • (1 1/2 tsp.) sesame seeds
  • (3/4 tsp.) grated onion
  • (1/4 tsp.) salt, optional
  • (1/8 tsp.) paprika
  • (1/8 tsp.) Worcestershire sauce
  • (1/4 cup) vegetable oil
  • (1 lb.) fresh asparagus, trimmed
  • (1 pint) fresh strawberries, sliced
  • (1/4 cup) crumbled blue cheese, optional

Berry and Asparagus Salad

Fresh sliced strawberries and crisp asparagus topped with blue cheese and a sweet and tangy dressing.

  1. 1Combine sugar, vinegar, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, onion, salt*, paprika and Worcestershire sauce in a jar. Put the lid on and shake until sugar dissolves. Add oil, shake again. Refrigerate 1 hour.

  2. 2Fill a large skillet with 1 in. of water and place over High heat. When boiling, add asparagus and cook 6-8 minutes, or until crisp-tender. Drain, cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour.

  3. 3Top asparagus with strawberries, blue cheese* and dressing and serve.
